Land Acknowledgement

HR Success Centre recognizes that our work takes place on the traditional lands of many Indigenous nations across the area known as Toronto, or Tkaronto, which translates to "the place in the water where the trees are standing."

We honor the rich history and contributions of the Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for generations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat nations. Today, Toronto is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities.

We acknowledge that this land is part of Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit and is also subject to The Dish with One Spoon Wampum treaty, which emphasizes the importance of mutual care and stewardship of the land and its resources.

We recognize the significant harm inflicted upon Indigenous communities through historical and ongoing colonial practices and policies.

At HR Success Centre, we understand that land acknowledgment is a vital first step, but we are committed to taking meaningful action. We strive to support accountability and transformative change by aligning our efforts with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
